Jim Jarvis was a boy who lived on the streets in Victorian Times. He lived a very hard life. He lost his sisters because they were took away to work, him and his Ma was found on the streets and took to the workhouse, Jims Ma died in the Workhouse, he escaped from the workhouse, he found his mums old friend called rosie (she was called rosie in street child), rosies grandad found jim and sold him to a man who made him shovel coal on his ship and he had an aggresive dog and jim was treated badly on the boat, he escaped from the boat, he found a circus, the man from the boat turned up, jim went back to london, he found carrots and he was very sick, carrots died, he went to dr. banardos ragged school and showed dr. banardo all the street children sleeping in gutters and on top of roofs and dr banardo set up lots of schools and houses for the homeless children. Long story, eh? Well, there is a story based on him called Street Child. Good luck!
