Tutankhamen, or Tutankhamun, is known as "King Tut," an Egyptian pharaoh of the 18th dynasty, a "boy king" who ruled from about 1333 BC to 1323 BC. His burial chambers in the Valley of the Kings were not completely looted by grave robbers, and were only discovered in 1922 by British Egyptologists Howard Carter and George Herbert. Many artifacts, as well as the mummified body of King Tut himself, were found in pristine condition, and have been thoroughly studied in the decades since.
King tutankhamen is the king who ruled Egypt from when he was 9 years of age. His tomb was discovered over 3,000 years ago.
When king Tutankhamun was born, he was raised in the Aton-religion, which believed in one true god, Aton, the sun. The Aton-religion was made by Tutankhamuns farther, AKhenaton, and he named the boy Tutankhamun, Tutankhaton. When Tutankhamun was 9 or 10, Akhenaton died, and Tutankhamun became king. The Aton-religion was removed, and with assistance from the army leader Horemheb, Tutankhamun introduced the old religion, and changed name from Tutankhaton to Tutankhamun. He and Horemheb tried to destroy all traces from the Aton-religion.
