Field Marshal Fredrich Paulus is the commander of the German 6th Army which is tasked to take the city of Stalingrad. Paulus surrendered to the Red Army on Jan. 31,1943, a day after Hitler promoted him Field Marshal. Rather than take his own life, Paulus surrendered. The last German soldiers at Stalingrad surrendered on Feb. 2.

∙ 15y agoMaximilian Reichsfreiherr von Weichs was the German Commander of Army Group B which consisted of the 2nd Army, 6th Army, 3rd Romanian Army, 8th Italian Army, 2nd Hungarian Army, and 4th Tank Army. The 6th Army, which the main army of that group to see action was commanded by Friedrich Wilhelm Ernst Paulus.
For the Russians there were many different leaders. Notable ones would be Vasily Ivanovich Chuikov, Aleksandr Mikhaylovich Vasilevsky, and Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov.
