∙ 15y agoRommel Actually, when it first went to Africa and got all its units there in October, the ground forces were organized into a Corps under the command of Lt. Gen Ludwig Cruwell. Rommel was in overall command of all the German troops and he reported to the Italian commanding general and the Commando Supremo (Italian Supreme Commanders) in Sicily.
