Some of the best known examples were the B17 Flying Fortress, B24, B25, B29 (all bombers), P47 and P51 (fighters), TBF (navy torpedo plane) and SBD (dive bomber). There were many, many more. America was producing nearly 10,000 airplanes per month by the end of the war.
