If a polar bear and a lion fought who would win?

It's thick blubber would protect it from most major damage, and the fact that it's paws are gigantic, means it could destroy the tiger within a minute maybe. Yes, some Siberian tigers have been known to kill grizzly bears, but a polar bear is just colossal. They live in the Arctic, another factor that gives the bear the advantage - the Arctic is a snowy wasteland.

No, the Polar Bear would not win. It is known that Siberian tiger hunt and eat Brown Bear. And Brown bear is close in size to Polar Bear. Forget size and power issues. Tigers kill big Bears. It is fact.

If they fought outside the Arctic, that might make a difference as well.

It's pretty hard to say. Ligers are, after all, a cross between a tiger and a lion which are both fierce predators themselves, which would make a liger just as much of a fighter as both its parents when cornered by a rampaging polar bear. However, since ligers are born in captivity, they are not as wild or fierce as a polar bear born out in the wild and raised as such. So it is likely because of this impeded fierceness that the polar bear may have an advantage over the liger and ultimately be the winner in a fictional battle between polar bear and liger.

If they did meet (due to human intervention), and decided to fight, my money would be on the bear. The polar bear is an all-out carnivore who is known for attacking and killing larger prey.
