Nicolaus Copernicus was a Renaissance astronomer and the first person to formulate a comprehensive heliocentric cosmology, which displaced the Earth from the center of the universe. Copernicus dedicated the book to Paul III who was known for his astrological predilection. De Revolutionibus was a book and when he published it the gov't didn't want to get rid of the Earth-Centered (Geocentric) Theory so before they published De Revolutionibus, they wrote in the beginning of the book that the stuff written in the book was all fictional.
