Reason is, your clutch is going out or tranny is about to be shot!
yes it does have reverse? wtf? not sure what you are asking or telling? if it wont go in then you may need a new transmission but the car has reverse none the less
the sunshell gear is stripped out
answer gottransmission.com rebuilt trans if your planning to keep your car, just search how to install then you gain years
it could be the shift linkage being that both gears over there wont work
bad transmission
You are probably low on transmission fluids
It's probably the valve body or the clutch packs. It doesn't really mattter since either way you'll be buying or rebuilding a transmission. -Redbeard --- Are u using manual or automatic transmission? Make sure if it's a manual, that you are pulling up on the spring for the reverse lockout. You didn't specify and not sure if you just bought the car. Took me a little while to figure it out too lol. -Drives3pedals
I have the same problem with my 92 Mazda 626, have Not found a solution yet.
Your 2000 Ford Contour cannot reverse because of a transmission failure problem.
If your 93 Nissan Maxima will not go into reverse at all, your transmission is either getting ready to go out or you are low on transmission fluid. You should check your transmission fluid first before messing with the actual transmission.
clutch is worn out
check your transmission fluid level. If it's low, then reverse goes out first. If that doesn't do it, you may need to take it to a transmission shop..
