Muslims are allowed to eat vegetarian Gelatin or gelatin of only animals that are allowed per Islamic religion to eat. If the gelatin is of animals that are not allowed to eat, then it is forbidden, per religion, to be eaten by Muslims. The Muslim who eats the forbidden gelatin is sinful if he eats it intentionally and knowing that it is forbidden.
They can eat gelatin except it contains alcohol or made from Pork.
Nothing, however they will not have followed the teachings of their religion if they are Muslim.

If the gelatin comes from a pig, the answer is.......NO! Muslims do not use pig products. They can eat franks made from beef or chicken, but not pig. Read about the Sepoy Rebellion in India in the 1800's, and you will get the idea.
