Best Answer

The time period of oscillation of the pendulum is inversely proportional to the square root of the value of acceleration due to gravity (g) at that place. g is low at heights above the sea level. So T increases.

Period increases. So frequency decreases. Hence the slow movenment.

Huygens invented the pendulum clock, and don't confuse Huygens with Einstein, because Einstein did not invent the pendulum clock.

When was the pendulum clock invented?

What is the reason of pendulum clocks become slow in summer?

During the summer the pendulum which is generally made of metal, expands due to the rise in temperature. this causes the pendulum to move slower and hence the clock becomes slower.

Who made the first pendulum clock?

The first pendulum clock was made by Christian Huygens, a Dutch scientist, in 1656.

What happen to the time period if its lenght of the pendulum is changed?

If the length of a pendulum is increased, the pendulum will take longer to complete a swing, and the clock will slow down. Shortening the pendulum will speed up the clock.

Frictionless pendulum is an example of?

When a pendulum clock is taken from sea level to the top of a high mountain it will?

..weigh less and the pendulum will swing at a slower rate. It might become more valuable (high mountain areas have less access to fine clocks than many sea level communities).

What advantage did the pendulum-clock have over devices such as water-clocks and sand-glasses?

The pendulum clock was the most accurate clock of its time. A disadvantage was that if in the sun too long it would heat up the pendulum and it would change the speed of it.

Who invented the pendulum clock?

Christan Huygens invented the pendulum clock in 1659. Christan huygens is a Dutch Scientist. The invention of the pendulum clock is credited to Christian Huygens who developed working versions in the mid 1650's AD. A couple decades earlier, Galileo came up with designs for a pendulum clock, though it was not completed.
