I might be wrong, but I'm fairly sure they are hollow. Most mammals' bones are dense and built solid by calcium deposits, but bird bones are hollow so the animal is therefore light enough operate its wings and defy gravity.
some people belief its evolution but I think they were just made by God that way. If you look at a cats bone stricter its like they have two shoulder's it helps them run from predator's the reason why their. most skeletons are similar to cats skeletons.
Finger Bones The "one other" is Human
They are the SAME structure, in different organisms, connected through evolution. A common example are the arms of humans, the wings of a bat, the fins of a whale, are all the same bones but have been adapted for different uses.
Whale bones sink in water because of the lack of blubber that makes the whale float.

Whale is a mammal. Human being is also a mammal. So whale should have about 206 bones in it's skeleton. Only number of tail bones should vary in number.
Articulated. Just like yours, just different arrangement of some bones.
A homologous structure is a structure found in two very different animals that has a similar form in both animals. For example, the bones of a human hand are homologous to the bones in a bat's wing or a whale's flipper. Structures that appear very similar suggest that two animal may be related, as in humans, bats, and whales, which are all mammals.
