The alkali metals in group one are called unipositive because each atom allows one electron to move freely through out the bulk of the metal. This is know as the electronic sea. Group two atoms allow two electrons to move freely. The more electrons of each atom that is available for bonding the harder and more dense the structure.
Apart from Hydrogen, Helium and Beryllium; non metals are located in the p-block. Starting from the third period with addition of Li, all of s-block elements are metals. The d-block elements are a compete set of metals.
Potassium has the largest atomic radius. It is in the 1st group of the periodic table. Fluorine has the least atomic radius.
We all know that helium is a noble gas. It has atomic number 2 but it is placed in 18 group be because in 1st group the elements have only one electron in thier s orbital e.g. Hydrogen, lithium, sodium, potassium etc. But helium has two electron so it cannot exist in 1 group. In second group the s orbital are same but the physical and properties of helium is different from the elements present in second group. According to modern periodic table elements which have same physical properties are placed in same group. Since helium is an inert gas and its physical properties are similar to the other elements of the 18 group and also helium discoverd late so that hilium can be put in the 18 group
One can show that elements that have different appearances have similar chemical properties by showing their placement on the periodic table. The table is arranged by chemical families that have similar characteristics.
The 1st group elements i.e. Lithium,Sodium, Potassium, Rubidium, Cesium and Francium are all low density metals and they react violently with water.
They are in the s block. Metals of the 1st group.
They are in the s block. Metals of the 1st group.
Alkali metals are the elements in the 1st group. In the 1st group, the reactivity of the elements increase down the group. Cs is the most reactive alkali metal.
The elements of the 1st GROUP of the periodic table are called alkali metals. The elements of the 17th GROUP of the periodic table are called halogens. Alkali metals are soft metals whereas halogens are non-metals.
Li, Na, K etc., 1st group elements Ca, Ba etc., 2nd group elements, give the strongest bases
Nitrogen can be found in the 1st period of group 15 elements in the periodic table.
The valence electrons are found on the valence shell, the outermost shell of an atom. By using the periodic table and the group numbers, one can find the number of valence electrons for elements in groups (vertical columns) 1-2 and 13-18. For the 1st 2 groups (1 and 2), the group number tells the number of valence electrons for elements which belong in that group Elements in the 1st group have 1 valence electron and elements in the 2nd group have 2 valence electrons. For groups 13-18, refer to the tens' value (the teen value that is not the "1" in these cases). Elements in group 13 have 3 valence electrons, elements in group 14 have 4 and so on to the the final group, 18, where electrons have a full octet of valence electrons.
The elements of 1st group are known as Alkalis and They are said to be in Lithium Family. The element are Lithium (Li) , Sodium (Na) , Potassium (K) , Rubedium (Rb) , Cesium (Cs) , Francium (Fr)
on July 1st some communities join together to form a group called Dominion of Canada. on July 1st some communities join together to form a group called Dominion of Canada.

Lithium, sodium and potassium are all group I elements. They are also called alkali metals. They react violently with water to form strongly alkaline solutions. The elements, as we descend the group in the periodic table, become increasingly reactive.Li Na K are alkali metals. They are present in group-1. They have one valence electron. All of these elements are located in group 1 of the periodic table. Each of these elements are highly reactive metals. They react with acids to produce salts. All of these are good conductors of electricity and heat.Li,Na and K are in the 1st group of the periodic table. They are alkaline metals. They all have a valency of 1.
Group 1 elements are called alkali metals and all have a single electron in their outer shell/valence shell. These alkali metals are: Lithium (Li) Sodium (Na) Potassium (K) Rb (Rubidium) Caesium (Cs) Francium (Fr)
