they are the same because they are both made by GM(General Motors)...it is also cheaper to make the same truck but put different emblems on it, than it is to make to totally different trucks.

GM is General Motors. They make Chevrolets. Now if you are actually asking if GMC is better than Chevy the answer is no. The only difference in GMC trucks and Chevy trucks is trim. They are identical under the skin. This was not the case decades ago but today they are the same truck underneath.

GMC does not make cars, only trucks and suvs. GM is the parent company over GMC, Chevy, Buick, Cadillac, etc. So far from my experience the trucks are solid, however I no experience with GM cars made after 1964.
