Where did the bearded dragon get its name?

bearded dragons got their name from their "beard" bearded dragons have a large, spiky "chin" When they are angered, scared, defending, or impressing a mate, they will puff out their beards... kind of like an air bag! haha

Bearded Dragons are called "Bearded Dragons" because when they are scared, angry, or annoyed they puff up their "beard," flatten their belly, and open their mouth (BTW, if you see a Bearded Dragon do this, you would want to get away from it!). Male Beardies have a black bearded so, when they do this position, they look bearded and look like a dragon.
