Why is it important to have prayer in school?

I'm assuming you are in the US; if so then students ARE allowed to pray in schools. individual prayer is a Constitutionally protected right. Schools are not allowed to institute prayer by decision of the Supreme Court. Individuals may engage in their own religious practices though, and often do.

The question really is, "Why shouldn't prayer and Bible reading be allowed in school?" The U.S. is based on equal rights to all, and America was founded on Christian principals. Muslim students have the right in many schools to take time to pray five times a day, to wear head scarves, and sometimes even get rooms for prayer with windows facing toward Mecca. Why should Muslim students have these rights, while Christian students aren't allowed in some cases to even wear purity rings?

On a physical level, getting down to basics, spirituality is healthy, and actually is scientifically proven to increase longevity, lower stress, and religious people are generally happier than atheists. Also, if teachers have the right to say, "You can't read The Bible" or "Don't pray over your lunch" than why can't they say "Don't wash your hands before you eat" or "Act like us- we hate black culture"? Also, many medical practices and customs found in the Bible were directions from God and are shown to be healthier for people. Circumcision, for instance, was directed to Abrahan from God, and prevented infection- and God instructed Abraham to circumcise his son on the 8th day, which is the one day babies have the greatest amount of blood cells and can heal quickest. Also, God instructed the Jews not to eat pigs, which protected them from worms that infested pigs and their fires could not kill. If they had disobeyed God's rule concerning pigs, worms would have infested their stomachs and the result was fatal. How many more of God's rules are present today that scientists have yet to discover have health benefits? Children in school should be allowed their Bible and prayer in school because it can bring endless benefits in the future.

because it is important to teach good morals, everyday skills and, what is true
