∙ 13y agoPoseidon is king of the horses because in Greek mythology he created the Horse species out of the foam/Spray of the ocean. In the myth Poseidon was infatuated with Demeter.
To put Poseidon off, Demeter asked him to make the most beautiful animal she would ever seen!!
Poseidon created the first horse for Demeter but, by the time the horse was finished his passion for Demeter had cooled.

But one version of the story has Poseidon saved from that fate by his mother claiming that she had given birth to a colt, which Cronus devoured instead. So the horse was Poseidon's lifesaver. Poseidon became the god of the sea, horses, and earthquakes. As a well-traveled god, he got around by a chariot that was pulled sometimes by horses, sometimes by sea horses.
