Leaves are usually broad, thin, and flat to increase surface area for photosynthesis. The wider the leaf is, the more spots there are for photosynthesis to take place.
This is only my thoughts as I haven't found the answer on the internet. I think that a leaf is thin to maximize the surface area so that more energy from the sun can get onto the leaf and it will be able to photosynthesise better.
The advantages to a flat thin leafs blade is that the green chlorophyll has more exposed surface area to absorb sunlight and allows for photosynthesis to take place and more progressively than in smaller leaves with less surface area.
to allow the diffusion of carbon dioxide, and to release oxygen for photosynthesis
This adaptation helps in increasing the rate of photosynthesis in plants
Leaves are predominantly flat and thin to maximize the surface area available for photosynthesis. They use chlorophyll to trap energy from the sun.
This is only in certain areas of the world. The broad leaves are to catch water, and they are thin because when they absorb that water, they don't want to be weighed down by it.
because they are :D
no they dont they have blades not roots stems or leaves.
Normally this would have to do with the origin and location of the plant. Long, thin leaves offer less resistance to water flow; these types of plants are normally found in fast, running water. Note: Not all underwater plants have narrow, thin leaves!
A fern has three main parts of the body that are the fronds, rhizome, and the sporangia. On the fronds, the flat, green leaf blades are lamina and between the lamina and rhizome is the part of the stalk called the stipe.
Broadleafs A+++
Cuz they are, ok
The characteristics of leaves are the ones that are used for purposes of identification and classification. Leaves have blades, they are flat and thin, they are strategically arranged on plants so as to access sunlight and so much more.
Moss plants have small, flat, thin leaves
to maximize the surface ara directly exposed to light and promoting photosynthetic functions.
Leaves are broad, thin and flat to provide a large surface area, to absorb sunlight for photosynthesis. :)
It does. Blades of grass are in fact specialized leaves.
leaves
There are some differences in the leaves of each variety. Cannabis indica plants typically have broad leaves and are often very dark in colour. The leaves are shorter than those of those of cannabis sativa but longer than ruderalis. Typically there are 3-5 blades per leaf. Cannabis sativa plants typically have long, thin, pointy leaves with 6-12 blades per leaf. Usually, the leaves are light green in colour. Cannabis ruderalis plants typically have small broad leaves with 4-6 blades per leaf. The leaves are dark green in colour.
collar bone
This the diaphragm. When it contracts it lowers and air can rush into the lungs. When it relaxes air leaves.
Scissors have two sharp blades and when you put paper in between the blades and press down, the blades cut the thin piece of paper.
no they dont they have blades not roots stems or leaves.
Narrow, thin leaves have lower pressure under water.
