Different chemicals that the brain/pituitary gland and other glands create make different environments that can affect mood. Dopamine is just one chemical, ATP deficiencies (low sugar) hypokalemia (low potassium and salt) or any other such shortages or over supply of chemicals released by the pituitary cause mood swings, outbursts, depression, fatigue, even heat stroke happens from sweating out too much salt and potassium. The cells in your body need these chemicals to survive (electron transport chain). There are too many possibilities.
