Best Answer

Because it would take a long long time for oxygen and nutrients to get where they need to go in the cell. Being small allows the small molecules to move quickly where they need to go. Think of if you had to triple the size of your house and you had to use the bathroom. It would take you LONGER to get to the bathroom from the front door if your house was bigger. You would want the house to be smaller so you can get to the bathroom quicker (and not have an accident!).

cells can not be large because well you may die like that

also there are many many cells to help the human body or other bodies

and if they are large they wouldn't have enough and some could die and you might die along with them

... Cells are Small for a reason, here's why...

The smaller the cells are the easier and much quicker it is for the cell to function or respond.

If the cells were bigger it wouldn't function well because the messages the nucleus sends to the cells would take forever to get from one place to another.

Animal cells are the biggest

Plant cells are smaller

and...

Bacterial cells are the smallest

because cells divide(cell division) and create more cells due to the fact that the nucleolus doesn't grow while the cell does and separtes

most cells are actually very small because the larger the cell is, the longer it takes to move nutrients around and the more nutrients the cell needs to maintain the cell
