∙ 11y agobecause they are experts in manipulation. They simply know the right buttons to push to make people feel good and excited being around them.
Problem is, it doesn't last. Over time they start to slowly become their true selves, they start to test the boundaries of the friendship, see how much they can get away with.
If you get upset, they'll make you feel even worse for even attempting to confront them over it. They're all about their image, how dare anyone challenge that. It may take time, but soon enough they've screwed over people and relationships end. Sometimes it can take years for this to happen but it always does.
