Metals are made up of atoms which are joined together tightly in a the solid state. Metals are having free electrons around atoms which are the ones that carry the heat energy or electrical energy for one end to the other.

solid metals are really good conductors because they are surrounded by a sea of free floating electrons since metallic bonds are electrostatic forces between protons & electrons all their valence electrons become delocalized. See I am a student of class 8 & whatever I knew I told u I hope that u would like this answer.

Metals are good conductors of electricity and heat. Also, they have a "metallic lustre", i.e., their surface shines.

Metals are good conductors of electricity and are sometimes made into ornaments.

How are solid nonmetals different from metals?

Metals are good conductors of electricity and heat; nonmetals usually aren't. Also, metals tend to have a shiny surface.

Is a metal and nonmetals are both good conductors?

Metals are good conductors. Some non-metals are good conductors, but many others are not.

Metals are good conductors. Some non-metals are good conductors, but many others are not.

What solids are good conductors?

All metals are solids and good conductors apart from Mercury which is a liquid but is a good conductor.

Are metals good or bad conductors?

using the energy band model, i would rank metals as good conductors. The energy gap in metals is negligible, that is the valence band and the conduction band overlap. Thus it is very easy for electrons in the valence band to move to the conduction band thereby conducting currents. Hence metals are good conductors.

Do metals insulate heat?

No. Metals are good conductors of heat.
