Other than belt fed, the other action type is magazine fed. Belt fed MG's are generally heavier, used in a fixed mount or position, have a higher sustained rate of fire, fire a larger progectile, have a longer range, and are generally bigger and badder than a box fed MG.

What is the basic function of the plotter in a computerized embroidery pattern making machine with plotter and how does it differ from a machine that doesn't have a plotter?

Changed based on post by Narayana.ma in Discuss:What is the basic function of plotter in a computerized embroidery pattern making machine with plotter and how does it differ from a machine that doesn't have a plotter? This question may include the description of an obsolete model embroidery machine. In earlier machines the data was fed to the machine with the help of a huge device known as a "plotter". Such plotters were basically graph sheet like gadgets on which the drawing would be reproduced so that the x,y co-ordinates of the points of the design could be determined and fed to the machine. Today this is replaced by new technology called digital plotting wherein the designs are converted into machine readable format by using some digitizing software which determines the x,y co-ordinates of the points comprised in the design and records them. This recorded data is then transferred to a floppy disc or cd-rom and can then be fed into the machine.

Was the MG42 an American weapon?

Answer :NoThe MG42 was a German weapon. It was 50. calibre and one of the most powerful machine guns to date. I do not the name of the American alternative, but it was comonly refered to at the 50 cal. An MG34 is a 30.calibre machine gun. Actually, the MG42 was not .50 caliber, it was either 7.92mm or 6mm depending on the variant. The MG42 was a Belt-Fed Machine Gun with a caliber of 7.92mm, larger than most other cartridges in use at the time. The MG42 were designed to give the standard infantryman devestating firepower with a cyclic rate of almost 800 rounds per minute (RPM) in a man-portable package. Which was far beyond the capabilities of their standard issue rifle, the bolt-action Mausers. The American equivalent of the MG42 would be the M-1918 .30cal Browning utilizing the 30-06 Springfield cartridge the ancestor of todays .308 Winchester, commonly used in the Belgian FN FAL, M-14, and M240 light machine gun. The MG42 set the standard for light machineguns (LMG). Many of today's LMGs, such as the American M-60 and German MG 21, can trace their origins to the MG42.

The bolt is in the closed (forward) position when the weapon fires, as opposed to an open bolt, in which the bolt is in the open (rearward) position when the weapon fires. Rifles are typically closed bolt weapons, whereas belt fed machine guns usually fire from the open bolt (one exception to this is the belt fed machine guns based on the HK91/93 platform, such as the HK11 and HK21).
