Why are spiders scary to people?

It is in your genes. Nowadays, there is nothing to be afraid of - the only Spiders which are significantly dangerous are far from civilization, where few or even no humans live. However, long ago, in places such as Britain and America, there were dangerous spiders living amongst humans. Of course, long ago, they had moved away from where people are living, but fear of spiders seems to have made a mark on our genes. It affects some people more than others, which is why not all people are afraid of spiders. So, to conclude, as long as you are near civilization, you shouldn't have anything to worry about spiders; the chances are it is harmless! The fear of spiders is called arachnophobia.

Everything about them is completely alien to us and humans, on general, tend to fear the unknown or anything "different".

Also, because they tend to be small and quiet, they have a habit of creeping up on us and making us jump.

Some people find them scary due to many reasons. Even the chance of a bite full of poison scares most people. Some people roll with the punches however, and take that as something that might happen.

I dont know, some people think it is the way they move so fast and scuttery, but some people could jsut think the look is horrible and freaky or your afraid the spider may bite you and you never know if the spider is venoumous or not SO KILL IT!

It depends on the person afraid of them.

some people arent afraid of spiders and others are.

when you are really afraid of spiders you are aracnidfobic (im not sure if that's spelled right).

aracnifobia is a common fear. what makes them scary? their legs, their eyes, the way they move... etc. the list goes on. it depends on you.

but if you are aracnafobic let me tell you this peice of advice: Don't watch movies with giant spiders. trust me. or play vidio games with giant spiders.

Because they can be really big and poisonous and are really freaky looking with loads of eyes and legs and stuff and can crawl really quickly and are bugs.
