  • Termites are the only ones that can break down wood on a mass scale. Without them, the fallen trunks of trees would soon pile up and kill the forest.
  • Termites also burrow a lot in the soil, making numerous tunnels which permit air and water to go through the soil.

Are termites helpful towards decomposing, well think about it like this if all the un-useful wood was thrown out all if we kept on burning it and polluting the atmosphere the world will become a disaster. And if all the dead corpses', never were eaten and were left to rot. That is where the termite comes in handy. Its most helpful purpose in the world is to eat wood and eat dead corpses so the world remains in balance. Think about it, we depend on termites in our life just like we do for any other decomposers.

They break down old, dead and dry wood which decreases the severity of bush fires. They can also serve as food for bigger animals like monkeys
