Tornadoes are the most violent storms nature sends our way. The high winds of the strongest tornadoes can destroy just about anything, collapsing buildings and generating high-speed debris. They cause death and injuries though these mechanisms.

Tornadoes are dangerous because of their violent, rotating winds. Winds may often reach to well over 100 mph and in rare cases may exceed 300 mph. Structures in the path of a tornado may be damaged or destroyed, and people may be hurt or killed by flying debris and collapsing structures or as they themselves are carried away by the wind.

Tornadoes are dangerous to people because it's violent. It speeds around at 300 mph. They suck up everything in it's path. They pick up cows, too. So if you see a funnel in the sky, or here a sound that sounds like a train, that's a sign that a tornado is on it's way. Keep safe!
