Water Vapor is important because it is included in the Water Cycle . If water vapor was missing from the Water Cycle then the Water Cycle wouldn't work as well or might not even exist at all.

Vapors are not important in a burning fire. Burn carbon, and you get carbon dioxide, and some carbon monoxide too. Neither are vapors. Only the presence of oxygen is necessary.
