The best way to care for a rabbit with fleas is to ask the vet for the Advantage brand monthly treatment for fleas. Many other kinds of monthly topical applications for fleas are harmful, but Advantage is not.
The collective noun for fleas is a swarm. The same is used for many insects which move in a mass such as a swarm of flies, a swarm of bees, a swarm of mosquitoes, etc.
they do because they lay eggs which turn into larvae etc...
Fleas suck bloody from animals, similar to mosquitoes. Upon injection they inject an anti coagulant into the blood, making it easier to suck. This anti coagulant is what causes the itching and the swelling involved with a flea 'bite'. This in itself is not really harmful, more irritating. However fleas can transmit very harmful blood borne diseases like bubonic plague or malaria. Instead of the bite being harmful, it is what the bite can transmit that we need to worry about.
Might be possible. I know for sure that by means of a very fine talcum-like powder (based on silica) you can kill fleas. The powder acts dehydrating both onto living fleas and their eggs, they dry out. It also cloggs the breathing orifices of the fleas. I use such powder from time to time for my cats (occasionally fleas are "leaving the sinking ship" and move from a mouse to the cat just eating the mouse...). It is no poison, but acts biologically - so I prefer it. The powder is applied both onto the cat and its favourite sleeping place. Just ask a veterinary, whether you can use it also against bedbugs.
They are no longer manufactured. that was an old technique to fumigate structures and people try to use them for bedbugs or fleas, neither of which fumigation is used for. There is a recipe to make them at home (link) if you must have.
It is a parasitic relationship. That means that the relationship is beneficial to the flea, but harmful to the dog.
Pyrethrins are often used to control fleas. Permethrin can be used to control bedbugs, and Tetramethrin is good for mosquito control. http://www.bugpage.com/xcart/insect-control/
you can bathe her in dawn dish soap. Flea shampoos are harmful to her puppies but you definitely have to get rid of the fleas because the pups will become anemic but dawn will kill the fleas and its safe.
No that is extremely unlikely if not impossible. Being bitten by bedbugs can be very unpleasant to some people in causing their skin to come out in painful ugly looking blisters or rashes, others people hardly notice any effects. But bedbugs, unlike fleas or mosquitoes, do not transmit any diseases when they suck people's blood.
Depends on the type of bug, for example, the methods are completely different for the following-bedbugs, fleas, roaches & earwigs. If you have any of those call an exterminator. But, if u have a stinkbug, capture it and let it go outside.
