Why can't I see the Moon from New Zealand tonight?

The sky may be cloudy or overcast tonight in the place where you live.

Alternatively, it may be a date when the moon is only visible during the daytime.

There are at least a couple of those in every month.

Today, Wednesday 3rd February, 2016, at 11.36 a.m. G.M.T., the Moon is a waning crescent, which means that it rises in the small hours. Here in the U.K. it's about to set, so it will be some while before it rises for you. In other words, you can't see it because it's on the other side of the Earth.

Usually if you can't see the Moon it's either because its below the horizon, or because it is cloudy where you live.
