A midwife may be unable to reach the cervix for several reasons, including the position of the uterus, the stage of labor, or the individual anatomy of the patient. In some cases, if the cervix is posterior or higher in the pelvis, it can be difficult to access. Additionally, if a woman is experiencing discomfort or has a tense pelvic floor, this may hinder a midwife's ability to perform a cervical exam effectively. If there are concerns, it's essential to communicate with the healthcare provider for further assessment.
When your midwife tells you that it means that your cervix is beginning to ripen and possibly efface and dilate. Currently im 1 cm dilated 60% effaced and have been in labor but not "active labor" for the past week. My cervix isn''t dilating so they dont consider that "active labor".
You can check your cervix in any position, as long as you can reach it of course. Some people prefer to lay down while checking their cervix as it's more comfortable, but it's easier to reach your cervix by squatting.
If you are not a doctor or midwife there is no way you should be feeling your cervix, you could easily introduce an infection which could be fatal to you and/or your baby. Keep your fingers out and wait until you go into labor.
NO, the cervix has no nerve endings except for pressure. Plus, a girl cannot reach it with her finger. A guy's penis can hit the cervix during intercourse--and hurt the soft tissues it has (so guys should try to NOT hit the cervix). But the most sexual pleasure comes from the clitoris and somewhat less from the vagina.
The midwife assistants assist the midwife.

You still can't hurt the fetus. No man will reach inside the uterus and the cervix, apart form the mucus plug being there, is also too small. It might be uncomfortable if you hit the cervix though.
Because YOU have parental settings turned ON
