Mercury is extremely toxic to humans (and pretty much everything else as well). It can be absorbed quite easily through the skin and the vapour is also easy to breathe in; this makes it quite dangerous and unhealthy to try it. Even if this wasn't so, mercury is liquid at any temperature above -38oC/oF, and its density and surface tension mean that you physically can't pick it up with your hands.
The medical answer is that you risk your life with Hg (mercury) poisoning. It feels not as cool as water; it makes your hand feel light (buoyancy). Although how I know that, I won't tell.
Because it's highly toxic and not only can some of the substance seep into your hand or any open wounds, but its vapors are extremely toxic.
The only two elements that are liquid at standard conditions(32 degrees Fahrenheit, and 1 Atmosphere pressure) are both metals, they are bromine and Mercury. Gallium melts to a liquid at just above room temperature( it melts in your hand!) but it doesn't make the cutoff
Pretty much nothing since any glow stick sold commercially contains relatively harmless substances that exhibit phosphorescence through a chemical reaction that is also harmless. Don't freak, just wash your hands and carry on.
It is used in the barometer because it is the densest liquid known, requiring only 33 inches of mercury to indicate atmospheric pressure. Water on the other hand would require 39 feet to indicate the same pressure. It is used in thermometers for a different reason. The expansion of mercury is a stable amount. Meaning it changes in volume the same amount from 0 to 1 degrees as it does in volume from 100 to 101 degrees, making it a desirable fluid for scaling thermometers. Presently in the US it is illegal to manufacture these devices using mercury.

Remove the trunk mat and/or liner. Hand wash the mat and the trunk floor with a strong detergent and scrub brush, rinse, air dry, replace mat and/or liner.

Don't listen to him! Mercury Co.
What is deadlier than formaldehyde and mercury? Mercury toxicity followed by formaldehyde exposure. The two work cynically hand in hand, and together have an exponentially greater effect in destroying the human body.

it lands on the floor if your hand is over a cliff.... it dies
Johnny Tremain's hand got damaged when a crucible melted and spilled on it, causing severe burns that damaged his thumb and forefinger.

Primary data is is data that has been observed or collected first hand
Secondary data is collected by someone other than the researcher, such as census information. Primary data is collected first hand, such as interviews.
