Because humans have to scientific need for superiority and have to be better than everyone around them, or they become depressed and mistreated. others who are better in some ways have the human urge to brag about their accomplishments (applies 70% to people who thought they were going to suceed, or have a really big ego.) Humans also have the instinct to "mark their territory" with their intimate/sexuel partner, physical property, or position of power. This causes people to become aggressive when heir "property/territory" is invaded. its all a matter of the mind, and differs among people, even if people make you think their for "world peace" they will always have an enemy of which they would cause harm to. like many super heroes. they fight people to make them be good (if you break their face, their gonna be good) other than persuade them to be good.
