Asher just thought of it as something fun to play, he did not have the memories or knowledge to understand that people were killed and that it was a violent game, so he just brushed Jonas off when he advised against it.

Asher couldn't understand Jonas's advice because in their community, which practices strict conformity and uniformity, individuality and independent thinking are discouraged. Asher is conditioned to follow rules and norms without questioning them, so the idea of not conforming to the expected behavior, even in pretend play, is foreign to him.
