How did edward turn into a vampire?

Back in 1915 (it might be later, but 1915 was when the epidemic started), during the Spanish flu epidemic, Edward fell victim to the Spanish flu. He was going to die, when Carlisle Cullen, who was running the clinic that Edward was in, decided to save Edward's life by biting him and turning him into a vampire. Hence why Edward is over 100 years old.

So she wants to keep the baby only its half vampire so its killing her from inside her stomach and she has to drink blood to keep it alive and shes like almost dead. But then she starts to give birth to it and she is dying and all that so Edward bites her to save her and after days of the worst pain imaginable, she lives and is a vampire, hallelujah.

Bella turned into a vampire because she thought that as she grew older and started to get wrinkles, grey hair ect.... Edward wouldn't want her anymore !
