Worship provides many people with comfort in difficult times, as well as a sense of purpose. Of course, this applies equally to many other gods, not just the Abrahamic God. Some people worship God because their parents did so before them, and they have never stopped to really consider whether there really is a God. Reason may tell those who enquire, that there is no God. And there are many ways outside religion to obtain comfort and solace. But people do not need to abandon their faiths just because logic and reason say so. Even Elaine Pagels ("Beyond Belief", "The Secret Gospel of Thomas" and others) says that, although an atheist, she still finds quiet comfort in the church.

There are three possible answers to that: One - Like every concerned father, He let us choose our own actions in order to grow and mature so that eventually we may find happiness and prosperity in His world. Obviously any parent will advise his/her children according to what he believes to be right or wrong. That is God's role: To be a concerned parent. Two - Who's to say he's real? Who's to say that the church didn't create God as a tool to manipulate followers and become the ultimate power instrument? In history we see churches' men controlling people and murdering those who can't be controlled. And who'd ever defy someone as impossible to reach but albeit an omnipotent figure who will smite you if you do wrong. Three - In the Book itself they mention the apparition of a false Christ who'll lead mankind to doom and rule the world of free men. It's not impossible to consider the fact that men has already walked too far in that path. Men is still an animal, but he betrays his most primal instinct: Perseverance of the species, not sole survival of the fittest in its own society. Now, if God is indeed out there, or in us, He's surely something we cannot grasp the concept of without an extensive evolution of Spirit and understanding. But still one dares to question the story that was passed onto us such as the God that slaughtered the firstborn of every family should Egypt not heed Moses's words. Children's sacrifices and fiery punishment to all eternity in burning hell for not condoning His words, or even commiting the so-called Sins contradicts the whole idea of free will. So does man really have free will in life, but at what cost? Smoking, drinking and sex will send you to suffer unexplicable anguish after you "move on to something better"... Doesn't that seem like selling your soul or something? The point is: What if the God in the Book has already taken the gap that Men made in his existence and silenced the alledged "Real Christ's" words a long time ago? Maybe around the second War if one's not too bold to venture a guess. It's a bit Nihillistic to talk about things like these, but it is a widely discussed view that deserves a bit of attention. For various reasons or for no reason also.

It is traditional in most of the families to worship.

Someone may not worship, if they do not feel doing so. It all depends on how you think. Someone may feel scientific and rational if they do not worship. Someone think they are rational when they worship. Some think that worshiping is a spiritual attitude.

Few people worship to express their love and gratitude to the God, the creator.

Some may worship to ward off the hurdles of their life-journey.

Very a few worship to commingle their soul with the God the super-soul.

Some people think they themselves are part of GOD and worship for that realization.

Some prefer to be separate from God and practice Bhakti Yoga.

And so on, it so vast to describe since everyone has their own method and paths in this world where there are myriad religious ways and Gurus to chose from.

When you are wonder-struck by the miracles of nature, or some act that is a miracle in your life, you start admiring God. Some may do physical analysis out of that wonder and may or may not end up in worshiping.

Religion provides a sense of comfort and a hope for life after death. Although there is never good evidence for God's intervention in life on earth, there is also hope that he could help in time of sickness or tragedy. Most Christians are taught to believe, while still young, and this belief is such a strong part of their identity that they continue to believe without question. Others become Christians for cultural reasons or because they accept the reality of God and wish to participate in the benefits that Christianity claims to offer, both in this life and the next.

A:If God created the world and continues to look after his creation, he is worthy of worship. If God can intercede to solve problems, such as serious illness, then he is worthy of worship. If there is a heaven, but God will only allow those who worship him to gain entry to heaven, then God is indeed worthy of worship. All the reasons are given with qualification as they are matters of faith.

Because He told us to (Isaiah 43:21). When we praise God and worship Him, we thereby maintain and strengthen our relationship with Him; and it is also good for the health of the eternal soul, to which Torah, prayer and religious observances are a form of nourishment. Judaism sees it as centrally important to thank God, to recognize that He is the source of prosperity, and to be close to Him.

What is a buddas place of worship?

There are different types of worship. When someone worships a god, they praise him or her, making offerings and ask for favours, believing that the god will hear their praise, receive their offerings and answer their prayers. Buddhists do not indulge in this kind of worship. The other kind of worship is when we show respect to someone or something we admire. When a teacher walks into a room we stand up, when we meet a dignitary we shake hands, when the national anthem is played we salute. These are all gestures of respect and worship and indicate our admiration for persons and things. This is the type of worship Buddhist practise. A statue of the Buddha with its hands rested gently in its lap and its compassionate smile reminds us to strive to develop peace and love within ourselves. The perfume of incense reminds us of the pervading influence of virtue, the lamp reminds us of light of knowledge and the flowers which soon fade and die, reminds us of impermanence. When we bow, we express our gratitude to the Buddha for what his teachings have given us. This is the nature of Buddhist worship.

Why do mormons worship?

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" church) worship for the same reasons as any other person of faith would worship. Worship is a way to praise God to thank Him for all that He has bestowed upon mankind. Many Mormons also feel that worship allows them to connect with God on a personal level and develop a relationship with Him. Worship also allows us to fellowship with other believers and to share and receive the gospel message.

How do you worship god in spirit and in truth?

To worship God in spirit and truth we need to worship God from the heart and to worship Him according to the truth of His Word in The Bible. God is a Spirit, therefore we need to worship Him as a Spirit, and not as some carved image. This is why Jesus taught us that even our thoughts can cause us to sin, because everything begins in the mind. So our thoughts needs to be captivated by the Love of Christ.
