The serpent in the mythological creation story of The Bible is not the devil. That is only Christian supposition, especially since the creation story is not meant to be taken as true.
Can a believer be cursed to have a smell that make people want to go throw up
It was a serpent in the Garden and the serpent spoke to Eve. There is no indication that the serpent was a snake or that it was not in some other form before God found out what Eve and Adam had done. It was then that God told the serpent that he would crawl on his belly and eat the dust of man forever. Why would God curse something that already was. In other words God would not curse the serpent to not walk if it was already not walking. So it stands to reason that if the serpent was cursed to crawl then it was apparently walking before the curse that God put on it. Plus it also communicated to Eve to disobey God's law.Serpent is a word of Latin origin (from serpens, serpentis "something that creeps. So couldn't the creeper have been something else that creeped. Maybe a fallen angel that worked against God and when God discovered what he had done cursed this angel and all of its offspring to crawl on its belly forever thus a snake.
enmity. It means hostility.
He murdered his brother Able.
yes but he turned to put a curse on the Israelites.
Not a deafness curse, but Leviticus 19:14 (NIV) says:"Do not curse the deafor put a stumbling block in front of the blind, but fear your God. I am the LORD."
After God came to the Garden where Adam and Eve sinned He, the LORD God (Yahweh) said to the serpent in v. 15, " And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed...." After God cursed the physical serpent, He then turned to the spiritual serpent, Satan, and cursed him. "your seed", this is the children of the devil or sinners who will not repent. "and her seed", this is Jesus the Christ. Jesus is a descendant of Eve. This portion of Scripture is known as the "first gospel". The woman's offspring called "HE" is Christ, who will one day defeat the Serpent (Satan). Satan was defeated at the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus from the grave 2000 years ago. Although Satan is still active today he has been defeated and will someday go to the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:10).
Odysseus and his men trick, then blind the Cyclops Polyphemus. So, he prays to his father, Poseidon, god of the sea and earthquakes, and asks him to put a curse on Odysseus and his men. Poseidon does and the curse torments them for the rest of their voyage.
He didn’t, the devil did and does! Adam chose to eat the fruit and brung sin into this world, would you want to be like a puppet and not free, God gives us the chance to either do wickedness or to go by His word. God is letting the devil have his time, but in the end, God will destroy all wickedness and will lock the devil up for a thousand years and there will be peace on earth, then after a thousand years, then He will put the devil in the lake of fire.
"I curse" (as in "put a curse on someone," not "curse and yell profanities")
In a religious way, Satan, or Lucifer. I would have to say the opposite of god would be the devil, Satan. (some people usually put the devil and angels together, as opposites, but really it should be demons and angels) Of course, the spelling opposite is dog.
Who Put the Devil in You was created in 2002-09.
