wow that's a dumb answer sorry but it is. they were fighting because the colonies Jamestown and so on the simple idea " manifest destiny". which back then meant to move from the east coast of the us or North America and move west to the pacific and well the native Americans were there doing there business and there land was sacret just like the powhatans they feared that the jamestownians were coming to take over there land and well it was the right guess they did. and so when the settlers moved west because of the white man/government. the Indians when up against guns with there low tech arrows ok there low tech at all well there is the story of the Indians becoming enemies of the cowboys/white man/governent.
