Although we do not really know what year Jesus died, there are two Christian traditions that suggest he either died in 30 or 33 CE. These are based on a reference in Luke that suggests Jesus began his mission in 29 CE. The synoptic gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke) seem to give his mission as no more than one year, while John's Gospel explicitly gives it as three years. There are other traditions, but these references point to 30 or 33 CE.

If Jesus was indeed born in the first year of the Christian calendar, then John's Gospel, combined with the reference in Luke's Gospel, would mean that he was 33 years oldwhen he died. However, the gospels say that Jesus was born during the reign of King Herod, who died in 4 BCE, with Matthew suggesting that he was born some years before the death of Herod. On this information, Jesus would have been at least 34 (synoptics) or 37 (John) and probably more than 40, when he died.
