He didn't. He said: "I am the ressurection and the life: he that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live." John 11:25. He said this to Martha after Lazerus was dead for four days.

Jesus said this to Martha whose brother Lazarus was dead. Martha believed that at his prayer God would give any thing, (Joh 11:22) but he was telling her that by his word he could work anything. Martha believed in a resurrection at the last day (Joh 11:24)

Christ tells her that he had that power lodged in his own hand, that the dead were to hear his voice (Joh_5:25), and infers that He who could raise a world of men that had been dead many ages could doubtless raise one man that had been dead but four days.

Resurrection is a return to life; Christ is the author of that return, and of that life. We look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come, and Christ is both; the author and principle of both, and the ground of our hope of both.

When Jesus said that He was referring to Himself, not another person. The meaning of this illistrates that only through Jesus Christ will anybody attain eternal life with God. Through Him, all believers will enjoy resurrection, unless of course the people that are still alive when Christ returns. Those few will be made immortal and meet Him in the sky after the dead in Christ are resurrected out of their graves.

Jesus’ atoning sacrifice and resurrection opened the way for the dead to return to life. After Jesus was resurrected, God granted him the power not only to resurrect the dead but also to impart eternal life. At Re 1:18, Jesus calls himself “the living one,” who has “the keys of death and of the Grave.” Therefore, Jesus is the hope of the living and the dead. John 5:28-29 Jesus promises to open up the tombs and give the dead life, either in the heavens as his co-rulers or on his new earth ruled by his heavenly government.

How do Jesus' life death and resurrection make our lives meaningful and relevant?

OpinionIt is hard to say just how Jesus' life, death and resurrection make our lives meaningful and relevant. After all, people had meaningful and relevant lives long before the time of Jesus. Moreover, many non-believers also haVE meaningful and relevant lives, even today. Perhaps some Christians feel they can not have a sense of purpose in life without their religion.

Jesus did not set up any organisation. He simply called the 12 to be his followers and to make them "fishers of men". They were "witnesses of his resurrection" (Acts 4.33)

Why did Jesus' resurrection make people want to follow his teachings?

Belief in the reality of the resurrection made some people follow the teachings of Jesus, because they assumed that if he really rose from the dead then he must be the Son of God. This belief was apparently not at first widespread, since most people in the Roman Empire declined to become Christians until the time of Emperor Constantine. Even the Jews, who would have known of the reality of the miracles of Jesus, if anyone did, seem to have been largely unmoved by the story of his resurrection.
