The most famous curse in the Harry Potter franchise is most likely the Killing Curse, which has the incantation Avada Kedavra. It is the signature spell of the series' antagonist Voldemort and is one of three Unforgivable Curses, the other two of which are the Imperius Curse (Imperio) which renders a victim under the castor's control, and the Cruciatus Curse (Crucio) which causes intense pain.
Harry Potter has used two unforgivable curses. In the Order of the Phoenix he used the Cruciatus curse on Bellatrix Lestrange, then in the Deathly Hallows he used the Imperius curse to break into Gringotts.

The Unforgivable Curses in Harry Potter are: the Cruciatus Curse, the Imperius Curse and Avada Kedavra. Cruciatus Curse: (Crucio!) to cause someone great pain. Imperius Curse: (Imperio!) used to give a command to someone, and the victim cannot do anything but to obey (some people that have a weak will can succumb easily). Avada Kedavra: (Avada Kedavra!) instantly kills the victim.
