Jesus was Almighty Gods answer to the impossible situation facing ALL humankind.

Old age sickness and eventually death. This is some thing that the Creator did not originally intend for his earthly children to face, and none of us, in our right mind, look forward to. Adam and Eve were created sinless but rebelled and were sentenced to death for their rebellion. In the the third chapter of Genesis, verse fifteen, our Creator foretold he would send a seed to redeem us from this situation. That seed would be the Messiah or anointed one - Jesus. But, unlike Adam he would have to be a perfect man, therefore he foretold to Mary, that the power of the Most High would over shadow her and he would put within her a perfect human as a ransom for us all to redeem us from sin and death. He did this BEFORE she got married so that her first born would be the PERFECT means for this redemption, provided he lived and died without resorting to sin/rebellion. This Jesus did and he has given all humankind the opportunity to put faith in him and TRY to live like he did in love for God and their fellow mankind, with everlasting life in the future under Gods Kingdom rule of the Earth. When as Jesus said, " The meek shall inherit the Earth. He was quoting from Psalm 37, where it goes on to say, that "they will live forever upon it. When the wicked are no more." You would understand this very profound situation/subject much better if you studied The Bible. I have only briefly touched on it, due to space. Pray for God to send some one to you to help you understand his will and purpose for you. He will, if you sincerely desire to know more. He did for me.

ANSWER

The Jews had been eagerly awaiting the prophesied Messiah for centuries, and every jewess wanted to be the mother of the Messiah. Mary knew for certain that when she said the father was God most people wouldn't believe her. It is believed that Mary's father was a priest so she would have known exactlywhat the Law said about pregnant women, espousal, marriage, prostitutes, and obedience to God.

1.

Mary knew that the Law commanded that every child - that is every single person - not just the Scribes and Pharisees - be taught the Law.

Deu 6:7And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Deu 11:19And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

2.

Mary knew that everybody actually knew the Law because it was compulsoryfor every single childto learn the Torah [the first 5 books of Bible] byrote.

3.

Mary knew that according to the Law an espoused/betrothed woman was considered to be legally married. [it was just that the official ceremony had not been carried out, after which consummation was commanded.] See Deu_22:25, Deu_22:28.

Deu 22:23 If a damsel that isa virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her;

Deu 22:24 Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, beingin the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour'swife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you.

4.

Mary knew that according to the Law, unless she had been raped out in the in the middle of no-where, a betrothed woman who became pregnant was automatically an adulteress.

5.

Mary knew that according to the Law [Leviticus 21:7 ] a daughter of a priest who played the harlot was to be burned at the stake.

6.

Mary knew she was betrothed and pregnant .

7.

Mary knew that Joseph was therefore within his lawful rights to have her at least stoned to death.

8.

Mary also knew that according to the Law if a pregnant woman was killed then the death of the unborn child was legally considered the same as either murdering that child, or at the very least manslaughter.

9.

Mary knew she would therefore not be killed until after her child - the Messiah - was born.

10.

Mary knew that the Messiah would then live.

11.

Mary knew she should be killed by stoning after the child was born, but she was prepared to die. (The baby would then probably have been given to her cousin Elizabeth -who was the mother of John the Baptist - to also raise.)

12.

Mary knew that her cousin Elizabeth had never had any children and was post-menopausal yet was pregnant with John the Baptist.

13.

Mary knew - as did everybody including the Scribes and Pharisees - that this was humanly impossible and therefore had to be supernatural. The Pharisees would have known that this was from God and not Satan because it was prophesied in Malachi 3:1 that a ''messenger'' would come.

14.

Mary knew the Scribes and Pharisees alsoknew that she had stayed for 3 months with her cousin Elizabeth who was then 6-months pregnant with John the Baptist and Mary was 3-months pregnant with Jesus.

15.

Mary knew that some would say that possibly one might might rub off on the other and that both pregnancies might be supernatural.

16.

Mary knew that when she said her babies' father was God most people wouldn't know whether to believe her or not.

[After all, if your pregnant daughter came home and told you God had made her pregnant would you believe her?]

17.

Mary knew that according to the Law if a pregnant womans' unborn child was killed that the father of that unborn child was legally entitled to exact whatever punishment he wanted [Exo 21:22]

.

18.

Mary knew that many Scribes and Pharisees were uncertain whether or not the father was a human being (such as a Roman soldier), but if the Father really was God (and not just a man) they would guaranteed be terrified of supernaturally-guaranteed punishment.

19.

The Father was God. To say the father was actually a human being, such as a Roman soldier, is both heretical and blasphemous.

20.

Mary became pregnant with Jesus by God the Holy Spirit before she was married because she wanted to be the mother of the Messiah, regardless of the consequences.

Mary was a very courageous woman.
