Stephenie Meyer originally named it "Forks" but the publisher of her book thought that "Twilight" sounded better. Also, the name "Twilight" makes sense, and all of the other books titles, because there is always a little comment related to the title. Like in Twilight, Edward says, "It's twilight." And in New Moon, Bella says to herself "... new moon...". And in Eclipse, it is like Jacob and Edward are covering each other so Bella cannot see the other person because they both are madly in love with Bella.
Stephenie Meyer wrote the book "Twilight" after a dream sparked the idea for a story about a vampire and a human falling in love. She wanted to create an unconventional love story that combined elements of fantasy and romance. Meyer was inspired to write the story she wanted to read but couldn't find on bookshelves.
She published it because it was a great idea and she wanted to show people her world of twilight.
She had a dream of a boy and a girl in a medow. The boy is fighting the urge to kill her because he loves her. The whole series grew out of that dream.

The Twilight series, by Stephenie Meyer, was very popular. In fact, it was made into a movie. The books are: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn. Another book Stephenie Meyer has wrote, is The Host.
I would have to say that Stephenie Meyer's favorite book, of those that she wrote, would be either Twilight or Breaking Dawn - those are the ones she was probably the most proud of, especially the first book, Twilight.
