In Jesus day baptism was a baptism of repentance signifying a turning away from a life contrary to God's ways and a turning to God.
For example the baptism offered by John the Baptist:
Mark 1:4 John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
Water!
The Person who baptized Jesus was John the Baptist( Jesus' cousin) and when John baptized Jesus, God, His father came from heaven and told the people who Jesus was ans what he would do. God is the only real God who is Jesus' father and who is also Jesus Christ. its a bit confusing :) but Jesus Christ is the only true God and if you don't believe in him and ask him into your life then you may not live in eternity. (heaven)
Jesus fulfilled Scripture when he was water baptized. But He was not baptized for His sins- He was sinless. When Jesus was baptized, He was baptized with the Holy Spirit, and with the Spirit came power. Jesus never performed any miracles before he was baptized. He had the Holy spirit, but he was not baptized with the full power of the Spirit until John baptized him.
so people can respect jesus !
The number is not given in the Bible, but there are two interesting verses that indicate that Jesus did not baptize anyone - See John 4.1 & 2 - When therefore the LORD knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John, (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)
Jesus baptized the deciples
As of December 2011, there were 139,089 baptized members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) living in the state of Florida. There were a total of 14,441,346 baptized Mormons worldwide, and 19,317,568 people living in Florida. This means that 0.72% of people in Florida are Mormon, and 0.96% of Mormons live in Florida.
Jesus got baptized from John the Baptist at age 12
What I know is that John the Baptist is the one who baptized Jesus.
Jesus was baptized before he started his work on earth not after he died on the cross.
Nobody told Jesus, he came down to be baptized by John.
