The British monarchy became increasingly powerless in the 1800s due to the rise of parliamentary democracy and the growing influence of the elected House of Commons. The Glorious Revolution of 1688 had already established the principle that the monarchy's power was limited by law, and by the 19th century, reforms such as the Reform Acts expanded the electorate and diminished royal authority. Additionally, the monarchy's inability to effectively manage political crises and public discontent further eroded its power, leading to a constitutional framework that prioritized parliamentary governance over royal prerogative.
There were no British 1800 Halfcrowns minted.
Pretty big difference because the real French royals fought through out most of the 1800's to retain the monarchy. They had to deal with Napoleon and his son and nephew for control. Napoleon and his successors weren't actually royalty even though they acted like were and even though the French for some odd reason treated them like they were. In reality they were despotic militaristic politicians. France went back and forth multiple times in the 1800's between having a monarchy and not, whereas Britain maintained the monarchy (in a constitutional role) through out the 1800's till now just fine; which is probably why Britain has (since Oliver Cromwell) avoided a tyrant.

The British Empire began to lose power in the 1800s due to several factors, including economic strain from costly wars, such as the Napoleonic Wars, which depleted resources and weakened its military strength. Additionally, rising nationalist movements in colonies and increasing demands for independence challenged British authority. The industrial revolution also shifted economic power dynamics, allowing other nations to rise and compete, while the British struggled to maintain control over their vast empire. These factors, combined with growing domestic issues, contributed to a decline in British global dominance.
George I (1714-1727) and George II (1727-1760) were British monarchs before 1800.
