hill with wood
yes, motte and bailey castles were very easy to attack as they were made out of wood and could burn very easily. whereas if you were talking about stone keep castles which were pretty much like motte and bailey castles then it would take time to burn as they were made out of stone.
I think it was stone keep or concentric castles or sumthin like that ^.^
same as a normal castle
people like barons and lords where the ones who owned motte and bailey castles. of course, people like kings and queens also had at least one motte and bailey castle. people obviously got greedy and wanted more than just one motte and bailey castles. then it became a competition to see who could get a bigger, stronger castle. thus, the castles we know today were born.
Castles in the early middle ages were motte and bailey castles- a motte was a large mound and a bailey was like a courtyard. These developed into the standard castle with strong stone walls etc.
Yes they were, because they built some of the first castles, like motte and bailey castles by hand and with only a few tools to help them.
the first medievil castles were called motte and bailey they were two hills one taller than the other the taller one with the keep on it the smaller one with the soldiers homes
Motte and Bailey castles were built in the 11th century just after the Battle of Hastings in 1066. They were built by King William I (William the Conqueror) who was the new King of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. He built the Motte and Bailey castles all over Britain because all the people didn't like him and wouldn't obay him. Having castles all dotted around the Contories made sure that people did what they were told and make sure that there were no rebellions. If people didn't do what they were told, his knights would kill them or arrest them.
