Yes. Voldemort gave Harry the scar when he tried to kill him as a baby and it backfired.
In Harry Potter, when you kill somebody a part of your soul breaks off. Having just killed James and Lily a part of Voldemort's soul was free to attach itself to the only living thing in the room after his own body had been "killed". That living thing was Harry, making him a Horcrux and leaving him with a lighting bolt scar.
The scar itself wasn't the Horcrux, but whenever his scar hurt it was because the part of Voldemort's soul inside him was trying to escape. The Horcrux is also why he could speak Parseltounge.. V

∙ 11y agoHarry Potter's mother, Lily, died to protect her son and because Lord Voldemort cannot understand love he didn't realise he would be unable to kill Harry. When he attempted to do so, Lily's love made the curse rebound and it would have killed Lord Voldemort had he not created Horcruxes. When he was hit with the killing curse, another part of his soul attached to the only living thing in the house: Harry. The scar was a symbol of the Horcrux and it hurt whenever the Horcrux tried to get out.
