Apidae Bombus
The bumble bee's family name is bombus.
Kingdom: Metazoa (= animalia -- multicellular animals) Phylum: Arthropoda (arthropods) Class: Insecta (true insects) Order: Hymenoptera (ants, bees, wasps) Family: Apidae (honey bees and bumble bees) Genus: Apis Species: Apis Mellifera Common name: Honeybee
The original name is supposed to have been "humble bees" so it would appear to have been a derivation or abstraction of that. As most Harry Potter fans will know an early name for these bees was Dumbledore, so the "umble" part of the name seems to have been a consistent feature. I'm afraid that's all I can offer in way of explanation.
The scientific or taxonomic name would be Bombus spp.
No... honey bee's collect honey and are in a hive and are also smaller than bumble bees and not yellow and black... whereas bumble bee's collect pollen and make their own hives. hope u understand that a little more now
Bee-eater As the name suggests, bee-eaters predominantly eat flying insects, especially bees and wasps, which are caught in the air by sallies from an open perch[1] While they will pursue any type of flying insect, honey bees predominate in their diet. Hymenoptera (ants, bees and wasps) comprise from 20% to 96% of all insects eaten, with honey bees comprising approximately one-third of the Hymenoptera"[2].
There are more than 250 different species of bumble bee world-wide, but they are all in the class insecta (true insects), order hymenoptera (membrane winged), family apidae (bees), genus bombus (bumble bee). For a list of the species, see the link below

Bumble.
Traditional team names include badgers, bobcats and buzzards. Other potential team names include bumble bees and barracudas.
Apis, Megapis, and Micrapis are the three names for honey bees (Apis spp). The first subgenus identifies the east and south Asian native whereas the other two subgenera relate to a south and southeast Asia distribution.
