Woolworth is simply the latest victim of the current recession in the UK in combination with market forces (most of it's goods can be bought just as cheap in most supermarkets)
Today it had it's best day's trading of it's entire 99 year history! Ironic.
Because they ran out of money and couldn't afford to keep the stores open because they couldn't afford to pay their workers
