There are a few causes to whining brakes in a car. One reason could be that the caliper is out, and another could be that the pad is worn out.
no only metal to metal contact will do it, You will whine if you drive metal to metal and lose the brakes while driving..

The metering valve should be pressed down while bleeding the brakes. This is one of the steps to changing brakes.
brakes may need bled but more than likely vacuum booster is bad
Sounds like low pads. many have built in wear indicators that squeal to warn you.
Most likely a wheel bearing. They are a pressed bearing so a dealer will probably need to do the replacement.
law of inertia
swine whine
Some brake pads have a built in "squealer" to worn the driver that the brakes are in need of service soon. Have a trusted mechanic inspect the brakes soon. Waiting may cost you more money in repairs.
umm KAT DELUNA sings whine up its not whine out
It sounds like you have a bearing going bad somewhere. Doe the whine increase or decrease when you turn? If it changes when you turn left it is probably the right front hub bearing. If it changes when you turn right it is probably the left front hub bearing. Does it change when you apply the brakes? If it does you probably need new front brakes because the wear sensors are making the whine. You really need to get it checked pretty soon because some things could cause a catastrophic failure and cause you to crash.
whine is a type of jamacian dance
