Christians believe that our religion was brought to us by the Lord Jesus Christ who was a Jew, and the first Christians were all Jews. The Jews were the apple of God's eye and are still very precious to Him.
While not all Evangelical Christians support Israel, the majority do and they do so for four main reasons:
1) Prophecies of Messianic Return: Evangelicals argue that the return of Jews to the Holy Land is a fulfillment of the Biblical prophecies in the books of Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Amos that are reiterated in the New Testament. These prophecies argue that the Messiah will come when the Jews return to the Holy Land accompanied by the Great Battle at Mount Meggido, often called Armageddon. Evangelical Christians greatly desire the Return of Christ and the End of Days and, therefore, supporting Israel, a country actively promoting Jewish immigration to the Holy Land, is a great way to push this forward.
2) God's Covenant with the Jews: Evangelical Christians argue that the God retains a special covenant with the Jews that exists in parallel with his covenant with Christians. This covenant results in Jews having a blessed status. As the Bible says, those who bless the Jews are themselves blessed and Evangelicals take this seriously. As a result, Evangelicals support the Jews to partake of this blessing
3) Judeo-Christian Values: Many Evangelicals argue that the values and morals of religious Jews and Christians strongly align. This includes values like hard work, belief in God and the Old Testament, love and comradery, personal responsibility, intact families, and close communities. These parallels lead to religious Jews and Evangelicals having a strong common interests, including supporting the Jewish State.
4) Spiritual Conflict in the World: Many Evangelicals believe that the conflict in the Middle East is a spiritual conflict in addition to the nationalist conflict, where the forces of people who believe in God and civilization (Jews and Christians) are fighting against people who follow the Antichrist and spell doom for the world (Muslims). In this fight, Israel serves as the vanguard of truth and justice against the barbarian hordes. Additionally, Israel recognizes "the enemy", as opposed to other civilized countries in Europe, which do not see any problems with Islam or Muslims.
Conservatives.
Evangelical Christians, sometimes considered Protestant, have always to some extent supported conservative views, by virtue of their belief in the teachings of the Bible.
Christians, those who support Israel, also support Bethleham
Many American Jews and Christians love Israel. Not everyone agrees with its current government, but the majority of Americans respect Israel and see it as an ally. Jews the world over love Israel, since it is a part of their religious heritage; but many Evangelical Christians also love Israel, because it is related to where Jesus lived and preached, and where these Christians believe he will one day return.
It depends entirely on the Christian. However, most Christians in the United States support Israel over Palestinian and most Christians in the Islamic World support Palestine over Israel.
