There are special deals on Black Friday since the day after Thanksgiving is the time where most people would typically start their Holiday shopping. Since the late 1900's many stores would try to push advertising on the floats in the Thanksgiving Day Parade to lure customers to start their shopping with their great deals, but soon the companies decided to not start advertising until after the parade. So since none of the stores would like to be the first to ruin the tradition of not advertising until after the parade, the day after Thanksgiving has always been the day of great deals and advertisements to lure in customers, which became known as Black Friday.
